Dr. Fulgentius Baryarama – is the Executive Director (ED) and one of the founder members of Health Information Systems Program Uganda (HISP Uganda) responsible for the overall policy and management of the organization since 2013. Fulgentius has over 20 years of working experience with Health Information Systems (HIS) efforts through management, research, leading software development teams and leading data analysis efforts. He has worked for and with Center of Disease Control (CDC) Uganda, WHO, QUIVER. He has authored over ten first author publications on use of routine data collected during client and patient service delivery for several organizations in Uganda including the AIDS Information Centre (AIC), the AIDS Support Organization (TASO) and Uganda Blood Transfusion Services (UBTS). He was awarded a PhD in Mathematics majoring in Mathematical Modeling where he developed models for HIV/AIDS incorporating behavior change and complacency and published findings in several papers in peer reviewed journals.He is a seasoned trainer in data management, analysis, presentation and use of data for action at international, national and subnational levels. He has a combined teaching experience at Makerere and Kyambogo Universities of over twenty years.
